Unfortunatly it doesn't look like I'll be able to go but I'm still working on how I can get it covered.

I'm ready for another (excluding some minor adjustment to a livewell).

Count me in... six!

R.Garcia is nine. Hmmm... if we get 20 Big bass would be worth $200 First place would pay $170 as well.....Not bad for a float tube, that's a lot of patch kits!

attract some more Tubers.

We went by there today, Twin Coves Park - was closed. It'll open this weekend.

Will be there with a repaired tube and a spare. Had a great time at Clear Lake.

Anyone have any idea what the Grapevine area is like where we will be fishing. Like water depth, moss, hydrilla, cattails, rocks, etc. I wont have to check the area out before we fish and would like to get an idea of what type of lures to bring.

Thanks,
Bryan

fishman5....

This area of Grapevine is really a good area for a tube tournament. First off, it's inside a No Wake zone off the main lake. Then, there are two large coves. The ramp we launch at is on the point seperating the coves. On the East side is Sneaky Pete's and lots of boat slips. The walls on the bank going into this cove are sheer bluffs into 20+ foot of water. There are flats at the back of the cove.

The other side is primarily covered in timber and has a well defined creek channel thru it. Lots of good fish have been caught in both areas over the years. You really can pick your technique in this area as it has it all. Shallow flats, timber, bluff walls, points, creek channels etc. I don't think there is going to be any type of grass in there.

Exceptions for Grapevine

For largemouth bass, Length Limit is 14-18 inch slot. Bass 14 inches and less or 18 inches or greater in length may be retained, and daily bag for all four species of bass=5 bass in any combination.

Does anyone know if it will cost us to use this park? (a.k.a. parking fee/park use fee)

I do not fish this side much, and it seems that everywhere on the South side of the lake it cost you if you stop.

Just curious... I'm on a small budget, and need to make sure I count enough pennies!

I fished the western side of Twin Coves yesterday with canepole, I had 8 fish , canepole 10, both of us caught fish above, in and below the slot. Most were caught shallow using "critter" baits, my larger females were in 8-10 feet of water. Parking is FREE , that area will open at 6am on tourney day.
