Today I had Coleman Cunningham of Austin, his dad Homer, and brother-in-law Bill, from Austin, for a birthday trip for Homer. Homer will be 81 on Friday. As it should be, Homer hooked into the first fish...in fact he landed about 7 out of the first ten caught. Each time he would let out a YeeHaa, and say how much fun he was having.
In fact, Coleman said something about my fishing schedule and I told him my next open date as May 29-June 1, and Homer told Coleman "Get one of those days booked"...so, Coleman was a good son, checked his schedule, and booked June1 for Homer to come again.
Winds were very light to start with, but fish were active...then by about 9:30 the winds stopped completely and the bite slowed a good bit. With no wind and the sun coming down hard, Homer said he was ready for some A/C, so at 11am they rolled em up and headed to the cleaning table with 64 cats.
All caught on CJ's Crawdad punch bait, under corks, in 1-4 foot water.
Coleman and Homer with a father son double.
