Any body know when the last time Hubbard was stocked with hybrids? Some one told me that it's been a while. I thought they were doing it on a regular basses.

Can someone explain how the Feds count recreational Red Snapper catch?

Us Hubbbard guys can raise money and stock more hybrids also, like the LTSA guys have been doing for tawakoni since 2004.

I already talked to Joe Read a couple of months ago and obtained the needed info. I already talked to Keo Fish Farms. My buddy Fishboy Frank obtained the name to Hubbard biologist, Frank left two voice messages but havent got a return call yet?

The biggest hurdle to me is to organize a Hubbard group and the FUND raising. IMO we need to raise at least $5K - $10K to place a meaningful order. Higher the $$ raised the higher the fingerling counts and less freight charge ratio. I think its best if we pool the orders with guys from the other lakes like LTSA and now Lewisville guys are doing it. Will post on the Lewisville threat shortly.

My time is so limited and I am not much of an organizer. So I be glad to assist in this matter on the side if we have enough guys wanting to do this. We all LOVE catching and reeling in hybrids!! lol

Todd thats a great idea but my question is does Hubbard have the Shad to support more Hybrids. Tawakoni has the right combo. I guess thats where the biologist would come in! I am like you limit time but my spare time is yours if I can help.

I will also help. My time is limited also. Maybe we can schedule to meet at a local watering hole and divide up the responsibilities. If you know all the steps to take then let's do it.

If a qualified biologist would agree Hubbard's food chain would support additional stocking I would really enjoy an opportunity to work with others to raise money for this project.

Dont forget only about 50 % live. The rest could become bait.

They used to stock stripers. Is that still possible too?

I will help with this effort as well.

Lets get together and talk after the TFF tourney this Saturday, at Harbor Bay, during food and cold beverages. Lets gather ideas, and assign the tasks.

Wow, the number was 940,000 in 1993 and dwindled down to only 105,000 in 2011?? We can fix that if we can get enough contributors.

I was born and grew up on the coast and to me catching hybrids is equivalent to fighting red fish! So its like have an ocean right here at home.

Todd I can try again once we all have a discussion. Hard to believe they won't return my calls. I know we are all busy but that's no excuse not to answer the public when they call... See you Saturday.

I think there is a great deal of difference between stocking fry (1993) and fingerling (2011). It seems the success rate would increase dramatically for a fingerling. Fry are so small the fingerling eat them.
