Just woundering how many people use mono or flouracarbon for fishing clear bodies of water with cover say pitching a worm in about 15 foot of water around trees I have always used mono tried some fluorocarbon but did not like them thought about buying some seagur to try but is it really that much of a difference that your willing to spend that much exta money on it

I use strictly flouro now except on my pop r style top waters I use mono still. I have been useing Vicous Pro Elite floro and have had no problems at all with it and I also like BPS XPS Flouro as well when they put it on sale and have had no issues with it either.

InvisX on everything except the topwater rods which have 50 lbs spiderwire stealth on them.
Yes, I believe the cost of invisX pays for itself very quickly.

I use P-line CX Premium because it is "mono" with an outer coating of fluorocarbon. The best of both worlds - low visibility with good handling, especially with a few squirts of KVD line conditioner.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

I still use Big Game the majority of the time. I will use the fluoro, for certain applications and it will be ok for awhile and then the spool memory will become an issue so I will take it off and respool with mono. I do have more confidence in it than I used to and rarely fish tourneys anymore as that might have something to do with my continuing Bias. The best fluoro in my opinion is the seaguire InVisX but not that much better than the red label considering the cost. One of the things I did learn was not to tie a Palomar knot with the fluoro, started using the old fishermans knot and had better performance with it.

Stren original clear blue mono. It's never let me down so why change something that's not broken.

Busted off a good fish last week on fluorocarbon and a palomar knot. The knot was well tied and cinched down with saliva. Lots of people say its not a problem. doesn't happen with mono. Funny, I've never had a trilene knot which is designed for mono fail with fluorocarbon.

The trilene knot is good for floro never had any issues as well as the double san diego jam imho is stronger but both are really good floro knots.

I use the San Diego Jam Knot. It takes about 15 seconds longer to tie than the Palomar and I have a lot more confidence with it.

I've been using the san diego jam knot too. I haven't had any breakage issues, but that is a HUGE knot. I'd gladly switch to something else smaller if it was almost as effective. I've heard too much bad stuff about the palomar to use that with flouro.
