Heading up to Beavers Bend with my nephew next week for some fly fishing for trout. Original plan is to camp at one of the parks and wade fish, but being a seasoned multi-day primitive river camping/kayaker, curious if there are any 5 - 10 mile stretches to do an overnighter on with shuttle service? Only will have one night available for this trip and hope to mainly fish, but want to see as much of the river as possible due to the beauty of the place. Also would consider doing an up and back and camp at park/truck, but not sure of water flow and levels. And advice is welcome (even for a non-kayak trip to camp at a camp ground and wade fish and/or (prefered) primitive site).

If Im camping I normally camp at a public camp ground at the re-regulation dam. Its right on the water and a popular put in spot for the short 3 hour float to hwy 70. There is a company down at hwy 70 that will shuttle you for a fee. I normally go with two vehicles and do my own shuttling. Its a crowded section of river in the summer but it still may be early enough where the crowds arent there.

There are some awesome cabins up there you can rent. Thats what I do now when I go.

Great place and good trout fishing. I like staying at the state park and I have not kayaked the part Dave mentioned. You can kayak a section of the state park but I mostly bank/wade fish the upper parts of the river for trout. The primitive camp sites are on the section you can kayak. As for the flow rates that changes all day long depending on if they need to generate. They let that water out at the lower section of the state park so it won't affect the upper river fishing.
