The only one I have really heard anything negative about is the Pelican. People seem to really like the Pescadors!

The Pescador 12 is probably the most popular starter kayak around right now. Its a great fishing platform for the price. Heard the heritage angler is good too. I have the Pescador and love it.

PRESCADOR 12'
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn

Pescador 12' Kayak for sure. The next best would be the Heritage, but it doesn't have any bottom seat padding . You'll have the padded back support, but will be sitting on the plastic deck hull. The comfort level plays a huge part in how much you will enjoy the experience.

like the man says...if you're swimming in the ocean and get bitten by a shark, its not a shark attack. You're in THEIR neighborhood. If you're at home in your shower, turn around and a shark is in there with you...THAT'S a shark attack

Perception Sport Pescador 12' Kayak.
I really like the hull of the redfish 12. Probably more than the pescador. I dont know what happened to the redfish though. The seat and the front hatch are really crappy compared to what they used to be.

+1 on the Pescador I'm bias because I have one and love it.I'm a bigger guy and it seems to handle very well just my 2cents.

I have a Tarpon 100 (2012 model so a bit different). Its great for stream smallmouth fishing up here in Wisconsin. That said, the Tarpon line is a good all around platform. For an only boat, I would opt for the Pescador 12 as well.
