I live in Cypress, TX and trying to to fish when I can (If wife permits...haha). Looking for others in the area that would like to fish on the weekends, sometimes on Fridays. Currently have a 2001 Basstracker Po 175 (Not much, but does the job). Drop me a line if anyone is interested.

sgtjnlawrence,

Sounds like your a prime canidate for a bass club. I live near by in Katy. There are a few clubs in your general area.

I have looked around at a couple of clubs. I e-mailed the Houston Big Bass Club and never got a replied. I looked at the Katy Bass club and they seemed to be strickly tournament driven and not sure how they are to accepting lower level fishermen. Let me know if you know of a good club close to Houston.

I actually belong to the Katy bassmasters, yes we fish the federation. And we only have one more club tournament this year on Limestone. We fish Fed and Club tournaments. Interesting note about the fed tournaments is that you do not have to pay to be weighed, you can fish as a club only. I know of one or two guys that do this.

There is also the Houston Bass Wranglers in NW Houston. The Katy 4-f club that fishes club style all year.

Shoot me an email if you need any help getting in contact with the above mentioned clubs.

So what club would you recommend would be good for someone like me? I would like to fish tournaments, however I would like to be in a club where the members like to share what they know and don't mind teaching me a few tricks. I am not a beginner fisherman, but not a pro either.

Howdy Fellas, I'm from Plantersville and fish Gibbons alot, about 10 yrs now, off and on. Also Belton and Fayette (been a while though)Most of my roadies are to Whitney ( for smallies ) and Ray Roberts for LMBs, Sandies and Crappie.

Good to see TFF isn't all N. Texas guys!!

Water temp at Gibbons will be coming down soon and I will be fishing more there, if anyone needs help or wants to go, lemme know.

I may be heading out to Gibbons Creek Saturday morning if you are interested in meeting up there. Drop me a line and let me know.

I have been there once and didn't do any good. Could use some tips on the area.

I am in the Cypress area but, I don't fish for bass. I am either going to the coast or targeting crappie and catfish on Conroe almost every weekend.

Just email me if you are ever looking for somebody to fill a seat. I wouldn't mind bass fishing, I am just not experienced with it and therefore, don't frustrate myself trying to catch them.

Does any one know anything about the Houston Bass Wranglers? I am thinking about joining a bass club also and don't know anything about it. Any info would help. I also live up near Cypress and would like to join a good club in my area.

Boudreaux99,

Houstom Bass Wranglers is a smaller club, i have talked with the president of club a few times. His name escapes me right now. Sounds like a good club. They like to have fun, like club fishing should be.
