Aneil and I snuck out for the morning and made a trip to Lake Fork. We fished from 5am until noon before heading back to work.

He made sure to remind me on multiple occasions that It was a chilly morning in the dark…while he was wearing shorts. Luckily, we managed to stumble a solid 6lber and a few small slot fish to get the blood flowing before the sun peaked out.






We didn’t have a ton of bites, but we caught good quality when we did get bit. It was one here, one there and we had to move around a lot to find active fish. We caught some nice fish super shallow on frogs and swimbaits once the sun got up. There were a lot of fry and shad in or around flooded vegetation anywhere we'd get bit. Later on in the morning we changed it up by moving out deeper. We ran some spots in the 15ft-25ft range and managed to pick up a couple more fish to top off a great morning. We were glad to see our best 5 fish total 35.25lbs. We also came across a 7.14lb over that measured 24 ¼” on a drop shot. thumb
