I got a diawa samurai combo the other day and I love it. I was wondering if it would be ok to use in salt water?

Any reels good enough for saltwater, reel don`t know it`s saltwater or not just needs to be washed real good after using,if u plan on keeping and not losing what u catch don`t go using any less than 12-15 lb.test cause depending on where or what ur fishing for,u never know what ur gonna get hold of course if its too big u`ll likely get spooled or line broke...[of course that`s just my thoughts] ...Bill

judging by its price.. it wont last long no matter what you do. but definetly rinse and rinse with fresh water.I use 17 lb. trilene, with a 6" 30 lb. mono leader.

Just about all reels will work fine in saltwater but make sure you take care of the reel when you are done at the end of the day. At the end of the day just spray a light coat of oil over the reel and whipe it down. If it accidently gets dunked then a breakdown of the reel will need to be done right away. Rinsing with a water hose at the end of the day is not a good idea as most reels are not water tight. Flushing with water flushes the oil from the bearing and gears and forces salt and grit down inside the reel.

I like Corrosion X. But I have used WD-40 before and has worked fine. I just spray a light coat and wipe it down.

I'd assume so, I just rinse all my reels with freshwater after each use in saltwater.

x 2 , DO NOT put your reel under the hose or tap. damp clothe wipe your reel thoroughly then dry it & spay a nice coat of corrosion X & wipe again the excess of oil AQUA PIMP

Hey Off topic question howd you get a pic in your signautre?
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn
