I took the family down to visit my grandparents at their place down in Rockport this weekend. Got down there friday evening and just hung out around the house.

Saturday we made our way down to Port A to check out Sandfest, the sand castle building competition. Although it was day 2 most folks were just getting started so there wasn't much to see. The entrance was pretty cool though.



We headed back to the house and spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out and fishing off PawPaw's dock.

Headed home Sunday morning and since my loving wife knew I hadn't got to really fish all weekend she agreed to pull off the side of the road on the way home and let me fish for an hour. I set my pod up and then managed one keeper red and one keeper spec in my short session. It was really neat, I do believe that is my first legal spec ever, so that was cool.





Im trying to talk the guys into a trip real soon dedicated to fishing only. Free room and board, home cooked meals, who could ask for more!

Oh and for the record, if anyone wants to head to the coast and split fuel costs, I can provide sleeping accommodations for up to 5-6 folks, 2 blocks from the water in Rockport. You wanna go, hit me up and lets do this!

why didn't you lip that spec sounds like a killer time. I love the coast. I love redfish.

I used to go to Rockport several times a year when I was younger. I love catching trout and flounder.
