Just wondering how EM was today, going out in the morning with the brother thought I would see how the bite is.

Did not fish it out of town but Mark texted me and he was doing well. Eagle Mountain has been hotter than a firecracker for a month or more. Most days it has been so easy a cave man can do it. LOL Johnny

I've run into some people on the lake telling me to get some of those slabs. I work out in Azle and get out at 3 on Thursdays. Maybe I can set a day that's convenient for you to buy some.

I got the opportunity to take my daughter and two year old grandson out today from about noon unrolled 4:30 pm. It was his first time on the boat and first fishing trip. Needless to say he is hooked just like the rest of us. We caught over 100 fish and he even let us reel in a couple. All fish on Ole Uglies. All fish on slopes and humps in 24 to 32 feet. We did have fun playing dodge the sail boats. They were definately out in force. I have come to the conclusion that rudeness and just plain no understanding of common courtesy and SAFETY comes in all types of water craft and their owners, but the sail boats today took the cake. I think that since most of them are not capable of it ...... I will be embarresed for them. I did see Frank Wright out today with a work buddy. It looked like they were whacking them pretty good too. Good to see ya Frank.

Otters and I did pretty good on Sat, wound up with 133 on the clicker, all but a few returned to the water. Beautiful day, we were surprised how few boats were out.
Started about 7:30, saw some birds working along the shore and checked it out. Fish were boiling on the surface in 4-5 FOW, but they were moving fast, had to work to stay with them. We worked along the shoreline and caught about 30 - big fish also.
Had an interesting catch. Hooked something that was dead weight, thought I had a big buffalo. Turned out to be a rod and reel, slab and all. Didn't look like it had been in the water that long, little mud but no rust or corrosion. Should work fine after I clean and oil it.
Tried one deep hump, they were stacked but couldn't get them biting. Wound up with 8-9 there. Moved to hump in the middle of the sailboats and they were all over and hungry. Caught over 100 there.
Met couple of TFFers there - nice to meet Trashguy and NitroZ7Girl. Enjoyed talking with you.
But we had to dodge the sailboats. Had one moron sail by within 3 feet of my bow. Rude and inconsiderate as well dangerous. It was deliberate, lot of open water in front of us. Kind of wish he had hit me - could get a new boat out of the deal!

Lip it was great to see ya, looks to me that your gonna have you a young PRO STAFFER before long. We had a good day thanks to your help Lip. It was Etu's first Eagle trip and he tore them up. It was slow start for me after two slab changes it got better. All in all we had a great trip caught plenty of fish keep a limit for a family to feed. (Lip it was nice to meet your daughter and grand son looking forward to fish with them more ) all my fish caught on "ole ugly's and flies" chart and white ,sliver glitter was my saving grace lol.

That white with silver glitter is my son's favorite by far. That is the only one he ties on.
