@RowdyRankin: Thank you, right now the two closest lakes are Lake Benbrook and Lake Arlington. I fish Rocky Creek at Benbrook, and o fish Bowman Springs Park at Lake Arlington.

I am trying to pick this up on my own, but some advice would be greatly appreciated, Im pretty new at this, I haven't been fishing in years, went fishing about a month ago with a buddy and I have kinda gotten on a "fishing kick". Growing up I always went salt water fishing with my family. So some friendly advice and knowledge would help alot. I have soft plastic body jigs, roadrunner jig heads, and some marabou jigs. I've tried using those with a slip bobber. And advice on rigs, color, when & where to use, etc. I also use the plain old red & white bobber and a minnow. I appreciate any advice.

I don't know anything about Arlington...but benbrook is a pretty tuff lake for most, unless your fishing w/ Sac-lait-Pat. He recently put a post up....I'll try to attach it. It's a great clue on where to find them....I would rig a minnow on a slip bobber about 8' deep and cast him out over some rocks in 10' of water...the fish on benbrook really like them jigs, but I believe from the bank it's difficult to give them the presentation they want....minners should do the trick!

Hello you ready to throw in the towel allready? Let me know when you are going again. If it is close to me I wouuld like to tag along,if you don't mind,I don't give advice but I know of a good spot from the bank you will need a (Slip Bobber) or two or three or six it doesn't matter if it is Red/White. for bait you can use minnows or plastic jigs.

Heck Pat, I'll let you know when I'm banking it again at BB. Hopefully one day next week. It would be an honor to meet you and see how it is really done.

First off. Throw away all the plastic red and white bobbers you have in your possession. Buy some of the slender Styrofoam bobbers with NO weight

Hold that thought please.....

Weighted corks have their place. Maybe not when you are fishing close BUT they are awesome in some instances..

Let Pat show you the ropes!!
