 max rpm for yammy 200vmax?

What is the max rpm I can safely run a 1999 yamaha 200vmax? This is NOT the hpdi. Im running a 24 fury that's been repitched to a 24 1/2 pitch. I can almost hit 6000 rpm.

Didn't they make 2 different 200's that year. Maybe a small block and a bigger block, like a 3.1. If I remember right, the small block was max 6000rpm and the big block was 5500rpm. May be wrong, but that is what I remember.

i have the same motor but '04. could help ya but my rpm gauge is out.

Mine is the 3.1 liter. I know the max on the motor says 5500 or 5600 but it seems like I saw somewhere you can run it a little higher. Any help?

6,000 is max on your engine, my dealer said 5,800 is perfect RPM with the right prop & set up.

The max WOT on a 3.1 litre 1999 200 VMax is published as 5500. It probably won't hurt to run a little over, but that's your call.

Ok thanks just wanted to make sure I wouldn't hurt my motor if I go a little high like 5800 to 6000 rpm.
