I was finally able to talk my Dad into going bass fishing with me and leave his catfishing equipment at home and it paid off! Since my Dad hates a "Madhouse", I pretty much kept the Mega Bass Tourney from him so he wouldn't back out and we both caught our personal best bass fishing together, which made the trip even more memorable! First, Dad caught his 6.11 on Friday evening to eclipse his 5.4 from Lake Weatherford in 1987, and I ended up catching an 8.5 on the "Last Cast" of the eve just before it was too dark to see the boat lane bouys. After stuffing our faces at Bro's with catfish and literally passing out cold, we got up and did it all over on Saturday. We caught some good numbers and size for the sake of "fun fishing" and I ended up catching yet another 8.5 in the heat of the afternoon out deep. To top the entire weekend off, my good friends win a truck AND a boat and I get to be just as happy for them! I thought I'd share a few pics and thanks for looking! Here is my Dad with his 6.11  My 8.5 on Friday  Saturday's 8.5

Nice fish...
I have never fished Fork and I am fishing there tomorrow with an old friend and his dad who drove down from Colorado. Anyone open to provide any pointers or places to go on Fork?

Good to read stories like that. My dad can't cast any more but I still get him out at least a couple times a year for some fishing. Now it's my turn to help him. Great trip for you guys and super fish. It might not be so hard getting him to go back now also. Thanks for posting.
