started off this morning pretty much the same i have last 3 weeks straight..checking out halbert..slow today on jig got 1 in an hour it has been fairly steady 6-10 fish for most people, just not shallow yet out from bank by bridge mostly males some females with eggs. I havent got one yet when i do i will report egg color etc. So after there i went to mattie caston...bunch of empty baskets out there..last stop if for nothing else see how people done..and yep i shoulda started here at sunset cove. when i showed up i could hear people saying, wow what happened they just stopped biting...:either way i jigged one outta there everyone else using minnow but i counted 7 baskets and one bucket smallest had atleast 10 in it.....hoping this is a prespawn feeding to bulk up? I know one thing for sure.. I will start at sunset cove tommorow! Oh yea almost broke sons jig pole with 20+ pound carp...kinda fun...he just dont fit in MY frying pan!

where is mattie caston, sunset cove marina? I was at halbert this morning got skunked. Fished under bridge at RC nothing but sand bass. Went to Navarro Mills man the water is so high it is unreal hardly anyone catching there

if you pass halbert and go down to 637 take a left and go down to 2859 take a left and sunset cove will be on your left (big chain link fence)......mattie caston is close to here as well its right off 2859 but cant remember what the road is....but you can also get it from 287 it will say mattie caston park.

At sunset cove, is that the new marina right off of 2859 before you get to the bridge?

i would bet its same one you are thinking ...its on 2859....looks close to bridge...surrounded with chainlink fence ...out behind it theres this wall thing they poured outta concrete you can walk it.....it goes out in the water and turns to left just after that turn...wet a line.
