Heading to Rockport next month for three days. We'll be fishing the pier at the rental house at night and also do some wade fishing in the daytime. Any suggestions regarding wade fishing spots this time of year (no boat)? Our first trip to Rockport in 20 years, so not familiar at all with this section of the coast.

Anywhere along the causeway from Aransas Pass to Port Aransas. Either side, just pick one or move around and fish it all.

Is all that area public along that causeway where on google maps it looks like you could just pull off and fish?

It is all open and accessible to the public 24/7/365. Enjoy.

Thanks LandPirate, we'll give the Causeway a shot. Any favorite Rockport/Fulton restaurant tips also much appreciated!

I used to live in Rockport when my parents operated a shrimp boat in the 1980's. I've have not been back since the mid 90's but there are many places that you can bank fish in Rockport and Fulton. You can catch alot of fish (specks, reds, sheepheads, and flounders) free-lining live shrimp along the north walls of the both Fulton and Rockport marinas. Another good spot is the Copano Bay Pier just outside of Fulton. The pier always provide good fishing or one of our favorite spots for wade fishing is a few hundred yards from the Copano Bay Pier on the other side of the highway. Tight lines!!!

Great stuff Spec Chaser. I will be down there the first week of July. Which marinas are you talking about. I see the Beacon in Fulton, not sure if that is correct though.
