Any body use them before, I know about leaving the bow strap tied , but I also heard about using silicone spray...

My father put some on his trailer and said it made a world of difference. especially on those shallow ramps. I am planning on getting some myself soon.

BE CAREFUL- MY BROTHER SLID HIS BOAT OFF ONTO SAND RAMP IN FLORIDA WHEN HIS BOAT STARTED SLIDING BACK BECAUSE HE FORGOT TO LEAVE STRAP HOOKED UP. ONCE IT STARTS MOVING YOU CANNOT STOP IT UNTIIL IT HITS SOMETHING SOLID. HOPEFULLY NOT YOUR LOWER UNIT. HIS HAS ALSO MARRED UP HIS BOTTOM LIKE FINE GRIT SAND PAPER. HE HAS SINCE REMOVED THEM. GOOD FIDSHIN THIS WEEKEND.

I have been using them 2 years. Sure makes loading and unloading easier. Have to leave engine running and in gear when loading until you get winch strap hooked or boat will slid back off trailer if ramp is pretty steep..I found this out the "wet" way.. Happy with them so far...waydon1

I have used them for several years.Both over carpet and on bare wood bunks. Prefer the later as there is no wet carpet to rot the boards. As long as you do not unlatch and let boat slide prematurly and as some above said keep engin running in gear until bow is fastened you will have no trouble using them. I have 4 on each 8 foot bunk and load a 17 foot deep V alum hull.Not real expensive and I think they are a good investment.
