Holy Smokes. I thought the dude had a wig in his hand. Don't worry about 12 mph winds. If you are concerned, just look at the forecast for wind direction and plan to fish the protected areas from that direction of wind. If lightning doew occur, head back to the ramp.
Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!

Go fish. If there is lighting go have breakfast then go back when it's over.

Considering it was only $25 don't think you were a sissy. Now if the entry fee was much more I would think you were a sissy.

I usually take cover in lightning. You are holding a lightning rod in your hand for God's sake.......

Well, I'm here sitting at Home listening to the thunderstorms that have been going on all morning, NOT fishing the tournament "Am I a sissy for dropping out of a tournament?" My best fishing trips were in nasty weather in 2011....so YEP! Sure aint no t-storms in Texas right now. Where you located? East Coast?

If there is lightning in the area, the whole tournament should be cancelled. If you're afraid of 12mph winds, you may want to take up basket weaving. Thats a good one Tom!1 LOL!! I would say go fishin. If the weather turns bad get to the bank or a marina as fast as you can. This time of the year in Texas the weather can be volatile. But if you're gonna wait for perfect conditions in the spring, take Tom's advice above....

I think the odds are close to winning a lottery. Buy a lottery ticket on the way to the lake. If you win the lottery, turn around and go home. If you lose, you should be OK to fish.

We are supposed to have 12 mph winds 12 MPH winds in Texas is nothing. That's a daily thing. You have two choices in Texas..........fish in the wind or don't fish. Lightning is a whole different deal.
