Made the trip west from Richardson today. Left at 12:30 and got there at around 3:00. In Mineral Wells it was 71 degrees at the Bridge on 16 it was 55 and falling. I put in just as the wind and sprinles hit. I headed upriver as I did not want to fight the wind and the end of the day. I almost gave up and went home, instead i got out and waded thru the shallow riffles in Columbia pants and Teva watershoes, yeah I was freezing. I hoped to catch some Smallmouth, nada, I could not deal with the wind. I headed down past the bridge in hopes of catching some Sandies at least, last time I was pissed because they would not stay off my line. I was cranking as the wind put me wherever it want with little fight from me. I had a Striper hit right at my Yak and then patterned they and caught a few, nothing big but no skunked and I caught a few on top. Went home happy!

Water level was normal, clarity was slightly stained. It should be normal in day i guess.

With all the river fishing that I have done, these are the first Stripers I have ever caught I think. I don't target them, but accidents happen. I have only caught a couple of Drum too! A guy that works at the PK hatchery was trout fishing and said he caught a Walleye at the dam yesterday, that's cool.

Pretty linesiders! Nice job of making the best of a less-than-perfect paddling day.

Hey Yak those are nice fish and pictures. Just thinking about wading in that cold water gives the shivers. Anyway, I noticed a cool board you were using to measure the fish. Can you tell me where you purchased this measuring board. Thanks...........
