I thought about hitting the creeks, but the rain threw me off. So lake lavon it is. I will launch at ticky creek around 8am. Anyone interested?

Boat US is having the Collegiate Big Bass Bash on that day on Lavon. I would be expecting a large crowd

With the water up go to highland to launch, catch bait then paddle across the cove to the club lake and catch all the blues that will move in there with the influx of water.

Go to Google maps and look just north of Bratonia right now and the levees for the old country club lake are exposed due to the low water and you will see what I mean.

SleepingTiger curious as to why you are not fishing the tournament at Ray Roberts?

Would also like to know why from anyone else as well?

If I find out the big girls are up shallow I may ditch the tournament cause 10 lbs is a small catfish...

I am very much a green horn when it comes to fishing and kayaking. If I enter the tournament, I would like to know I stand a chance of winning. I need more TOW before I think I am ready to compete against the pros on the board. I was in awe when I saw Shaun cast. The accuracy is amazing. He said he was even more accurate with his pink barbie spin cast. I highly doubt that since i noticed he had a transformers spin cast in the bed of his truck.

Also, when it comes to competing and tournaments, i get very anxious, nervous and stressed. I have enough of that during the week with all the meetings and deadlines.

Speaking for myself, I don't have the luxury to fish recreationally much less have the funds for tournament fees. When I go out fishing, my main goal is to bring home some fish & have fun while doing it.

Now if I had the funds & the time, I would definitely participate in a few tournaments. I've been known to catch a couple BIG bass here there...
