B. Wild. I'm new to the site too, it's a great resource.
there is a guide that posted a quote about when to fish after a rain. He referred to it as Baffin's rule:
: every inch of rain is a day u have to wait to go back.
I've not fished Benbrook this year but the more popular lures for sandbass are RoadRunners, jigs with white curly tail grubs.
My personal favorite is an in-line spinner like a Mepps or Blue Fox.
good luck at Whiskey Flats

The only other thing I have ever used besides a white grub with a white, chartreuse or red head or a roadrunner is live minnows.
My best day was when I was using minnows a couple of years ago.
Be sure you let us know how you do if you head out there anytime soon.
I'm going to try and hit it up after work tomorrow.

Years ago we used white with black polka dot Shysters, the fish would rip the tail off after catching 2 or 3 dozen. Water was so clear you could see them run up and attack the lure.

Maribu jigs tied two at a time using a spin casting reel is deadly chartreuse and purple or red head and chart/black is a winner. one eigth ounce is too heavy. the bottom jig should be the heaviest tie @! 18 inches apart. two fish at a time is common.
