I'm thinking of retiring to Lake Fork and my kids have asked a question. Are there rules on Fork that do not allow water sking and jet skis on the lake? Do they ski at the damn area? I understand with the timber most of the lake would be off limits.

No there are no rules to prohibit either activity. Yes people ski by the dam.

Unfortunately some folks find it a good idea to play on their jet skis and tube in the boat lanes on Fork. I watched a kid on Saturday cut in front of several boats out from Mustang. Stopping and turning in the boat lanes is always a danger but when people are darting across, stopping and doing donuts in the lanes it can be scary because they are too busy playing to see whats coming behind them.

I drag kids all the time in the summer. Just have to be smart about it as with any lake. thumb

Heck I saw one many years ago running through the timber up in Birch. I think he thought it was a slalom course.

I cant wrap my head around that! I can see up around the dam where it was cleared out but not in the creek arms with all the stumps! Not to mention the miles of tangled fishing line and hooks in every piece of timber.

Don't worry my kids are fisherman too. They just wondered if they could ski a bit down by the dam in the more open area. They would not get near any fisherman as they have been the ones in the fishing boat many times. I can only have a retirement home on one lake so trying to cover all issues. Thanks for the response.

lake holbrook is only about 15 minutes at most from southwest side of fork and it's a very popular water sports lake with lots of open water and hazards that do exist are well marked
