I haven't been able to find shad from the bank to save my life. I know some of the bait shops in the area, but not all of them. Any shops around this area that sell shad (preferably not the tiny threadfins in the ziploc bag).

Don't give up with warm night temps and hopefully rain if your getting any, will drive em shallow. Keep watching wind blown coves and creeks. Freash shad will always out perform frozen anyway.

I'm going to Waxahachie here in a bit. I'm going to throw around the boat ramps and such. They closed off access to the primitive boat ramp on the creek side of the lake, so I'll hope for the best. Beyond that, I have livers, so I can try that and maybe get me a mess of channels.

Well, that was interesting. I went surfcasting at Waxahachie for a couple hours until I couldn't stand it anymore. I did manage to find some REALLY nice super-fresh frozen gizzards at the bait shop down the road. 3-5", eyes were still really clear, fresh as any frozen bait I've ever seen. Managed to blow up a spool of line worse than I have ever done before on one of my rigs. Gonna have to cut it out and re-spool it.

No no, I saw it, but I didn't heed it. I was being stubborn.
