Fished the surf today with my paw in law and caught a good bit of big whiting, a few slot black drum, pompano, and sheepshead. fresh shrimp fished on the bottom Carolina rigged. It'll make for a few good fish dinners for sure. The surf is on when it's calm enough. About 2-4 footers with a morning high tide, wind around 10 knots were the conditions today.

Knee Deep @ the most. Just cast as far as you can and hang on!!!! The fish should be there as long as it doesn't get too rough. Had some friends go down yesterday and they did well also.

Tip of the Day - Peel your shrimp when you bait the hook!! (Tucker Style) and use #2-#4 size hooks.

It should be a great opportunity to let the kids catch a few. It's an easy type of fishing and the whiting usually cooperate.

I got all kinds of grief from my 6 yr old daughter and my young nephews because they didn't get to come with me and their grandpa. In the past they've usually caught their fair share of fish while at the beach. We'll definitely get them out there in the near future.
