Headed to Fork this week for the first time since October 2010. Fished this lake every year since 2004 but just had twin boys (future fishing partners)and priorites change. Having said all that, I would love to fish down around wolf but also want to run up to Birch as well. If I hug the boat lane buoys should I be ok on that run. Also, how is the boat lane running up north in Birch? Thanks for the help!

Somebody will be on here shortly to tell you what you need to know. I haven't been on Fork since Sept. and I know it's come up since then. If you stayed close to the bouys in the boat lanes everything was fine, another question is what boat ramps are functional. maybe the lake is getting close to being full again as the recent moisture I'm sure has helped.

Type Birch in the search and youll get yer answer.

They say you can run till you get within 100yds of the first set of power lines then you need to idle in

Hope that helps

be careful going back into wolf, those alleys they cut in last time the lake was low have a lot of obstruction's in them right now. last time i was in there, idled all the way back and had stumps right at or just below the surface through most of it. before the rain this weekend the lake was still 5 1/2 ft low which is'nt too bad considering it was almost to 8 ft down at one point the info above on birch is correct to the best of my knowledge, haven't been in birch for awhile but have heard the same thing from several people. be safe and good luck.

Be careful and hug the bouys. Some have moved and are closer to the timber than they should be.

You've been lucky! There is several stumps just below the surface starting about 125 yards before the power lines. Save yourself the money and spend the extra 2 minutes to get to the power lines. It's not worth it, been up there too many times.
