Its fun in a weird way. I haven't done it much in lakes, but used to noodle the red river and creeks of southern OK quite a bit. I'm gonna take some guys I work with here in a few months. They want to try it since they have seen them shows and is legal in TX now.

My Grandfather was a noodler when he was young. When I was a teenager he offered to take me to Oklahoma to people he knew that would teach me, but I was young and had other things in mind for my time. He is gone and I regret it now. I do know a lot about it from his stories, but I have never tried it. I do hope to try it this spring even if I have to do it on my own with just a spotter.

I use to do it years ago, and have an interest in going again (since it's now Legal) when the water warms up. Not a lot to it. Just get in the water find you a big rock or hole under the bank, feel around with your feet or hands until to find a hole. check for more holes that the fish may go out. someone needs to block them. Once your sure the exits are covered, reach back into the hole, If there's a fish under there you may feel him with your hands or feet, A lot of times the fish will bite your hand or foot, especially if they are spawning and have eggs in the hole. Blue Cats are very Aggressive I've had them grab my hand before I even got it back into the hole, they came out to it. It will sure get your attention. I'm not crazy about getting in deep water, I like to be able to get my head up out of the water quick if I need to. Was just looking on the forum to see if maybe someone might put together a competion, like Mud Cats around here sometime this summer. (Johnson-and surrounding counties) Lureguy
