Just wanted to make a post about a friend of mine that guides on Lake Meredith in the Panhandle. Kelly Jones and I have known each other for 6 or 7 years. During the spring and summer he is a fishing guide on the lake. I caught my first smallmouth with him. Meredith is about 5 1/2 hours from the DFW area, but well worth the trip. 3 state records are held on the lake, including the smallmouth record.

Kelly is one of the hardest working guides I know and easy to get along with. If youre looking for something different give Lake Meredith and Kelly a try. His web site is http://ogo.com/jones/index.htm

He is also partners in one of the finest hunting guide services in the state - High Flying Outfitters - specializing in goose, duck, pheasant, and sandhill crane - www.highflyingoutfitters.com

Almost every time I have hunted with him we get our limit of canada geese.

Here's a photo of Kelly with a couple of Lake Meredith smallies...

This is a photo from a hunt with Kelly 3 years ago. That's me with the shotgun and Weekly Fishing Report coastal reporter Bink Grimes on the far right...

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach
