Got hung up today at Bedford Boys Ranch and decided to wade in and retrieve it and I"m sure glad I did. Somebody had been throwing a massively too big cast net and broke it off. It was about a 10 foot wide cast net


Scored 4 cranks and a brass weight and egg sinker. Good stuff for my buddies beginning fishing.

While throwing any cast net at the boys ranch is illegal, the net itself isn't. Texas allows up to a 7' radius, or 14' across.

I thought there was just a size limit for fresh water vs salt water, because the signs only say no boating swimming wading or seining.

Makes sense. Ive heard that before but just from passer-bys. I guess when I was about 13 cast netting bait at bear creek, that park ranger did me a favor lol

Yeah. I got real excited at first because I thought that Excalibur was a lucky craft. Also someone stuck a spinnerbait blade in the back of one of those cranks, which didn't make much sense because you could just put in on the split ring

Well I only fished for one fish the whole time. But you gotta work for the ones you catch.
