So after giving Pack a hard time for posting such a great report on the eve of my trip to Fork I have to admit-yes, the parking lots were full of trailers but for the first time in a LONG time, everyone played nice. If only the fish were as nice. Went North almost to Running Creek-fished a long stretch of the NW shoreline leading up to Running bridge-water was really stained to almost muddy. Breezy. 55 degrees. Fished from 1 inch to 15 feet-and caught one small male on a spinnerbait in 5ft of water. Stopped at main lake point that leads to Glade and fished about 100 yards of that shoreline. No fish. Hit Long Branch (lots of boats in there but no fish caught-didnt see anyone else catch any) Finished in Bell-no fish. Bell was warmest we found at 63 degrees. Fished traps, sq.bills, senkos, jigs, flukes, drop shot and spinnerbaits. Really tough for us. Started at 10am and quit at 5pm.

I had pretty much the same day on the west side of the lake. I fished with everything in the boat without a bite. Then tied on my go-to jig. First cast - boom! Thought I finally caught a bass and could start whacking them. It ended up being a fat little 1.5 lb crappie. Got my butt kicked the remainder of the day. It was a beautiful day on the lake and hope springs eternal. Will try again next week!

Tight lines....

You guys aren't the only ones who struggled. It was tough out there!

Fished the weightless fluke (watermelon red with tail dipped) a LOT. This time of year, with all the pressure, the fish typically like it just sitting there, barely moving. Believe me, we tried it all! No fish.

First problem off the bat, you payed attention to a golfer not a guide. Pack gave up fishing for golfing.
