Do I have to be a rocket scientist to install a lowrance HDS-7 with structure scan and all the goodies....Im sure this has been posted I just can't find the thread

Ther is a thread on the BBC board for Lowrance. They do a good job of describing the process.

What is the BBC board? I installed my hds5 on my center console so it can't be that hard.

If you installed your HDS-5, there's nothing to it. The only new thing is the extra transducer and the yellow wire that I believe is bundled with the power cable. The easiest thing to do is to connect the yellow wire from your HDS unit to your LSS-1 unit. That will ensure that your LSS-1 will turn on only when your HDS unit is on.
