Word of warning to ALL bank fishing folks. Beware of snakes! I was walking the banks of White Rock Lake in Dallas and I damn near stepped on a 4 footer! With all these warmer temperatures they are coming out to get to enjoy the sun. I noticed 3 yesterday, can't say there wasn't more. Be careful!!!

Doughtful. I see plenty of snakes every spring and the non/ven out number the ven 30-1. Most every one are the super common water snakes. The diamond back ws gets big and will scare the bejebbers out of you when it suprises you. Don't try and pick it up it's a will bite snake.

Don't know. After almost stepping on it, it got me thinking about my footwear. I normally wear a sandle type shoe during the summer. Probably not the smartest thing to do.

Unless you're wearing snake boots, a cotton mouth can still get you. My dad was wearing leather work boots one night while we were coon hunting, and got bit in the foot by a copperhead. Cottonmouths have stronger and bigger fangs, so it'll still get you. Most of the time, the snake takes off when you get close. I wear flip flops all summer long, sometimes go barefoot. There's nothing to worry about.
