going in April going to be launching at Diablo East any hotspots or info would be great also wife wanted to go to caves can anyone tell me where they are thanks

I would recommend launching at Box Canyon and travel up river until you reach Panther Cave.

I would recommend launching at Box Canyon and travel up river until you reach Panther Cave.
Dennis Better have lots of gas if you launch at Box and drive to the caves. You could drive to the pecos high bridge launch your boat there or drive your truck to Seminole Canyon and walk to the caves. You better call the Amistad National Park service though to check on the hours. Just fyi it's a pretty good distance from Del Rio to the caves.

I would not fish up in the river. I never catch anything up there except dinks.

There is an island almost straight across the lake from Diablo east. If the water is not to low, there are a lot of trees just under the water a few feet. Last time I was there ( 2 years ago ) I caught a lot of fish by pulling a gold/ black jerk bait across the tree tops. Nothing huge, but had a great time. Parks and wild life just put some christmas trees on a point not far from the launch. You can get the co-ordinates from their website.
