Want a great suggestion for a fabulous Saturday, then I recommend that you consider the short drive down Hwy. 175 to Athens for the Fly Fish Texas event the second Saturday in March. Tour the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Museum/Aquarium, attend clinics conducted by renowned instructors, learn how to tie your own flies, do a little fishing in the ponds, eat some great East Texas barbecue, sausages, and other interesting local concoctions and visit our Mariner Sails kayak display at the pond.
