Not sure where to put this (saltwater or freshwater) but my wife and I are wanting to go to Alaska for halibut, salmon and anything else that will bite. It will be our first trip so we are looking for any information that may help. If you have any actual first hand information on where to go, outfitters, best time please PM me. We are wanting to fish for 4-5 days and sight see for a couple days. Thanks

Take a look at Alaska Premier Charters, Inc.
Wild Strawberry Lodge in Sitka. www.alaskapremier.net.
I've been there 3 times and have not been disappointed. Great guides, fishing(King, Coho, Pinks, Halibut, Rock fish, Ling Cod, etc... depending on what time you go). The food and lodging is also top notch.

Lived in Alaska for 11 years, it would help if I knew where you were planning on going or what your general plans are so your objective could be slightly more isolated, Alaska is friggin huge and theres lots of places to fish, from SE Alaska to Anchorage!

Our family has been going to Ketchikan for several summers now and we always enjoy it, but as Cub said, it helps to know what general area you plan on going and whether you want a 'do-it-yourself' outfitter or if you want a full service guide and lodge.

A place that can vacuum pack and flash freeze is a big plus in my book also.

Sewardadventurecharters.com Ask for capt. John Mcleod. Go during the summer I prefer July. You won't be disappointed. Alaska is really really amazingly beautiful.
