We had our club tourney yesterday and although the weather was sh***y, the fish were biting good. I landed 10 fish and lost one at the boat. The smallies were on yesterday, however, I could not find the big ones, finished 4th place with 7.72 lbs and thats after culling twice. 3 of the smallmouth landed were not even 14in. My Co-angler landed 2 that were both unders but we were using similar baits with different colored bellys. I was wondering does color really matter that much or is it more presentation? I was getting bit all day and he only had those 2. Im still learning....

I've found color can make a difference but sometimes size and speed really matters. Maybe your co-angler could have gone with a bigger bait. I've had luck with dragging a 5" lake fork magic shad or purple berkley havoc on c-rig through larger fish I've seen on my graph. It takes patience but two alt presentations in same boat might help.
