NEED HELP! Ok last week I try to started up the motor but it wouldnt ( fuel bulk were bad but I didnt know at the time) so I try to get it started several time and it didn't work. So today I replace the fuel bulk and the fuel line that goes to the engine. So that is working real good now but the problem is the engine wouldn't start now. I have a Mercury 150 horse saltwater . Does anyone have any idea why? I know it is Sunday , but your help and info will be great. Thanks....

Need 2 people, open the motor have one person cover the with their hands the carburetor so the injectors can suck gas up into the motor. While the other person starts the motor. Worked on my old boat. I did this in my garage with the ears and water hose on.

If the fuel line you replaced was coming apart inside the line ( from ethanol gas ) it is a 99.9% chance that some of the crumbling line has made it's way into the fuel pump and needs to be cleaned out. This could be blocking the fuel delivery. Just a suggestion

It may not be fuel related, pull one spark plug out and hook it up,turn the motor over and see if it is firing,if so then it is most likely fuel related,if the bulb failed there is a good chance you have rubber in the fuel delivery system,if it is a car berated motor it will stop up the jets and even the needle valve that lets fuel into the bowl.I went thru this last year and it took me four try's to get all of it out and I only have two carbs as opposed to the three a 150 would have on it.

Go back to the basics with a carbureted motor. Fuel Compression Spark 1. Check and make sure fuel is reaching the cylinders. Unhook the kill switch. Put the choke on and turn the engine over. Spark plugs should be wet with fuel after you do this. 2. Do you have compression in each cylinder? 3. Hook the kill switch back up and check for hot blue spark at each plug. Careful the fuel of the fuel while checking spark. If you have spark ,fuel and compression it should run. Stopped up carburetors.bad ignitionbad rings/cylinders are another story cornbread!
