Which line do you use?
I currently use Mono, 15lb big game for everything...
I fish primarily Eagle Mountain Lake, Fork and Tyler. I am beginning to not like the way the 15lb feels, it just feels to big and stiff to me. I was thinking of dropping down to 10lb Mono.
Is there times that you use different line weight? i.e. fishing a trap do you use lighter weight line to get the trap down further?
Thanks for any help...

I don't like Fluoro. Never have. I do use it for leaders sometimes. Otherwise it's T-Line from Mason Tackle Co, or Power Pro Slick 8 braid.

IMHO, no way I'd drop to 10 lb test on Fork. You're asking for a heartbreak.

I dont use mono for anything anymore except carolina rig leaders, and maybe topwater (which I use braid on now). Fluoro all the way for me

I only use mono on my topwaters, crankbaits. Worm & jig mostly fluorocarbon or braid. Braid for frogs or heavy grass flipping.

I use P-line CX Premium for "mono". It's a copolymer line with an outer coating of fluorocarbon. Very good strength and handling and low visibility under water. 15# for cranks, topwaters, jigs, traps, etc; 12# for finese lures with spinning gear, like shakey heads and small jigs. This combination will work well on Eagle Mtn., but I don't know if it's stout enough for Lake Fork.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

I havent broken on the hookset in years, even at falcon on 7-9 pounders in the bushes. Make sure you wet the knot too as you cinch down. Otherwise you will break.

I personally like mono. I use Stren Original, 17lb for tx-rigged worm and jigs, 14lb for topwater, spinnerbaits, rattletraps and 10lb or 8lb for most crankbaits.

man trust me..i tried every knot and wet every knot ...i dont know whats up. maybe i got some bad batches of fluoro. the knot never broke on cranks ,just on worm or jig where u have the hard hookset. i know alot of people who love fluoro and never have any problems.

The only floro I trust is invizx and I'm real slow with cinching of my knots...make sure you don't pull down fast. Heat is the floro killer.

Do you use a glass bead between the bullet weight and hook? My dad used to do this and always broke off. The glas bead after a while cuts the line. Not sure if you know this but just putting that out there. I havnt ever had bad experience with invizx 20 lb floro. For mono I like to use 17 lb trilene xl. All of my reels either have 15 or 20 lb invizx or 17 lb trilene.
