Back then it was filled with brim and catfish. We put bass in there from area ponds. There were some gold fish also. Lot's of fricking snakes and turtles.

There's huge Carp in there if you want a fight. I used to fish it in the late 80's early 90's. Haven't been back since.

It's pretty spot specific but there are a few bass in there. Most of them seem to be in the 11-13 inch size. Expect to have the campus police come by to check out what you are doing.

I fish there all the time. I get questioned all the time about what I am catching out there, but thats it. I catch quite a few fish out of there also. The biggest that I've caught is a little over 3 lbs., which is a nice fish to catch during a lunch break. You do have a lot of little ones out there.
you know, nothing wrong with seven men who met on the internet going for a swim together

JW, I have fished there off and on for 25 years. There are some really good fish (bass) in there. There are a lot of 1-2 pound fish and are fun to catch. But over the years some my biggest pond fish ahve come from there. My biggest went close to 7 lb on my spring scale. When they dredged it and re-built the walls about 8 years ago the TPWD netted and placed all the fish they could and keep them in a holding pond for ~6 months. When they were done with the walls all the fish were put back in. Ten years ago I talked to school director told me that lake record at that time was a little over 11 pounds. Last year my biggest out of there was close to 5 on a trick work. The baby brush hog is also a good bait there. It's not uncommon to catch a 3 pounders at either side (north or south end). They should start spawning there by the first of March. Fish tight to the bridge columns when you can, but dragging a plastic along the rock walls works pretty good. I like fishing next to the steps where they go into the water. They overhang about 2 feet or so and water right there is about 4 feet deep. I hope a little history about this innercity gem didn't bore you. Good luck. PS. This a catch and release only pond too.
