I launched Saturday morning at the boat ramp off Dalrock on the right just as you exit the highway. Someone decided it was time to renew their plate and helped themself to mine. I know this is a long shot but if you happened to see anyone around a maroon Skeeter trailer on the back of a red Tahoe I'd appreciate an IM.

As for the thief, if you're reading this I guess you needed the plates pretty bad. Just know that regardless of how you rationalize this everytime you do something like this you chip away a small piece of your soul. I hope in the end it's truly worth it to you.

What a tough morning though. weather.com said the wind would lay down. Rough day in a 19' bass boat. Then as I was launching I let my motor down and went to turn the key...nothing. There was a gentleman at the ramp with a set of jumper cables. I was able to put the motor back up and go get a battery. Thanks by the way.. But then the plate just kind of topped it off.

Anyways, if you have any info on the thief I'd appreciate a heads up.

Tight lines....

BSmith sorry to hear about the plate being stolen. That is the reason I don't use that public ramp anymore. I had part of my trailer ( the accuator lock in cap ) stolen from that very ramp. So I decided that I would rather pay to launch where there is a security guard watching things so nothing would happen like this again. That is a darn shame that idiots( or should I say flat out criminals ) make it where you just can't trust anyone or any place these days. Once again I am sorry this happened to you. Also your motor troubles as well smile

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. I lost one earlier in the year. I think the replacement was like $4.00 plus the aggravation.

There will be better days.

Thank you all for the feedback. There was also remnants of a broken window in the parking lot. I should have known better and just headed to a different ramp. I'll use the pay ramps going forward.

This is why all my trailer plates have a coated steel cable crimped to the frame. They could still get it, but would have to have a set of cutters in hand.

Sorry to hear about this happening. nothing worse than a theif! A year or so agao, I had loaded in at the old Texas Queen ramp (other side from where you were at) and when i cam back in froma morning of fishing, I found that someone had smashed my trailer. All of the bunk boards were broke (I have 8) and the tie down on one side was bent nearly to the frame. No note, no phone number, nothing. I guess they figured no one saw anything so the left. Awesome. People ask what character is....it's what someone does when no one is looking and this person failed miserably. Good times!

Either this or weld the nut onto the bolt.

A while back at Grapevine a Buddy of mine came back to the ramp from fishing half a day with his grandkids only to find someone had stolen the wench and strap off of his trailer. He had the replacement welded on.Its a shame that fellow fishermen/boaters would resort to this.A fishermen would always lie to you but never steal lol!

Isn't that an oxymoron - safe ramp?

????????????? hmmm

They have a security guard at Harbor bay and YES!! it is a safer ramp than the ramp in the HOOD!!! called Robertsons park. If you don't believe me ,Call Harbor bay and ask them about the security watch there. Thank you. smile
