I bank it a lot and have always just used PVC duct taped to rebar. Gonna start going in the boat and I have a 17 foot metal tracker. Is there any good holders yall use that clamp to the sides? I may just build them but was wanting to get ideas. Also had thought about building one that runs the width of the boat in the rear kinda like what my buddy has for trolling for hybrids. Ideas?

Choices Choices everybody has their favorites and some get pimped more than they are worth

Do some research first before purchasing your rod holders?

Bases & holders

1st choices Double Action MONSTER Rod holders they even have a back deck holder to organize multiple rod holders in a stationary position for anchoring or trolling same with driftmaster. http://monsterrodholders.com/

2nd Choices Driftmaster Duo Rod Holders www.driftmaster.com

Just my two cents worth! They are tougher than a junk yard dog, you can troll with them, rugged bases, do not tear up you rod handles, they have extra cross width to handle extra large handle rods unlike other brands, etc.,,,,,,

I use these:

lag bolted into a 2x4 and C-clamped the 2x4 to the side of the boat.

Not fancy or pretty but it took 10 minutes to make and cost less than $20 and it works like a charm.
