Whenever I trimed my motor up I noticed it was leaking some kind of green liquid from the upper section of the motor. What could the green liquid be? The motor is a 90hp 2 cycle 1986 mariner outbord.

I dont have oil injection, I pre-mix the oil and gas in the gas tanks.

sparkej,,,I had this same experince with a 65hp Johnson...What you are most likely seeing is resin leaking out of the stator windings..I thought it was gasket glue as my engine has been rebuilt...My engine lost a cylinder, started missing, replaced plugs and one coil....didn't fix the problem so talked to mechanic and was told what green resin is...Replaced stator and fixed problem...It should be running down the block from under the flywheel...fix it as it is going to quit and leave you on the lake...may not give any warning, just quit and won;t start....waydon1

Thank you everyone, I think wydon1 is right because thats where the leak is coming from. I will try to change the starter to see if that fixes the problem.
