Heading to Falcon this week for 2 days- CAN'T WAIT! It sounds like it's going off! I keep hearing about the jig/crank/spinner bait bite but no one is commenting on flipping/pitching of craws/jigs into cover... Any thoughts? Are people just hush hush on this or is there really not much of a reactionary bite going on T-Rigged Creatures and Jigs yet? Thanks!

What does your guide recommend? Take whatever you like to fish with and most likely you will catch them.

Just trying to get other's feedback, that's all. I really dig pitching texas rigged plastics and jigs into trees but it sounds like it might not be hot for that now, not sure?

Best advise I can give you is to communicate with the guide you are using. Those guys are great fisherman, that's why they do it for a living. They will know what pattern is the best for the time you are there. You can always catch fish flipping the bushes, sometimes they are the 3-4 lb fish and sometimes they are the 5lb and up fish. Most guides with provide all tackle needed, but some don't so you need to make sure you know what to bring. If you like to use your own rod, spool up with 20 or 25lb fluoro and maybe one rod with 50 or 65 lb braid for flipping the nasty stuff. Sometimes I want to learn a new technique or fish a specific pattern and I want the guide to teach me. They may say that the fishing will be better doing something else, but at least we both know what to expect and no one is disappointed at the end of the day. So if you want to flip bushes tell them, they may say, well we need to throw crankbaits for the better fish. You can crank for a while, then try flipping. Good luck, the big fish are biting!
