I have noticed that West Boats, Xpress dealer, has been closed for some time now.
Went by today ,gates out front still locked, no one at home.
There are some boats in back in for repair.
Anyone have a clue what has happened.?

Beth and Butch are two of the nicest people to do business with. Prayers for their situation.

Last time I talked to Butch, not sure Beth was in the picture.
And Butch has been in poor health for a while.
No note on the gate, old Texas Outdoors under the gate, dated November.
I bought my boat there, too.

Hope all is well.

I think Butch was diagnosed with cancer and is just living life the best he can now. Prayers said. This is what I have heard and read on the TFF.

They are just down the road from my folks house. Noticed that a couple weeks ago. Thought they should be opened. Always liked to stop buy. They are really good folks. Hope all is well.

I have heard that West Boats in Mequite is closed..that is where I boat my boat and usually had them work on it....any suggestions on where to take my boat to get my Yamaha motor worked on? Also, anyplace closer to Hurst/Euless/Bedford than Mesquite is a big bonus. thanks

Yea it's closed crying butch passed away and beth closed the shop. bang really sad myself. That place was one in a million as far as taking care of the customer. I don't have any idea as to who to use for repairs though.

Does anyone have any details about the passing of Butch. He was a high school friend of mine.

Been a long time since being in the RV/boat business was a good idea. Sad to hear.

I am Butch’s daughter. My Dad and his brother Rickey started West Boats I believe off the top of my head in 1987. My Dad Continued the business after Rickey passed. This was a family owned business - Beth, my Dads wife at the time did work there to help during the marriage. She no longer affiliated with West Boats when she decided to end the marriage. At that time my Dad was had been diagnosed with cancer. He kept the business open a short time but his Illness was to much.
The company was closed by the family and building sold.
My dad has a ten year battle with cancer. Several cancers he battled and won. Dad was a marine and was exposed to agent orange. He was a hell of a fighter.
He lost his battle yesterday. 07/19/2020. I came across this searching my Dads name. I wanted to make sure the customers and friends who loved him knew what happened.
Once Dad closed the shop he did distance himself from friends because it was how he felt he could deal with his illness.
Your prayers are appreciated. Thank you all for your kind words above. I love hearing stories about him. He was and will always be my hero.
