A little over a year ago, the Texas Fishing Forum almost lost a member when Brandon Pope was thrown from his boat into 48 degree water without his kill switch attached or a life jacket. His amazing story was one of the most widely read TFF posts ever, and judging from the responses he received after his post, his story affected many others besides me.

I had the opportunity to talk to Brandon a few weeks ago about his near drowning, and I've written an account of that incident based on that discussion. To read his story, click here... Lone Star Chronicles.

Thats a good family pic! Would have been really sad to have a pic of a struggling widow and her two children.
It only takes a moment to buckle up that lifejacket and snap on that kill switch. We all take exceptions to it from time to time but it really is not worth the risk.

Good read as well.

Good story. Not wearing PFD and kill switch. I liken it to raceing motocross and not wearing your helmet. loco
