Sounds like it is overloading and shutting off but sounds more like a bad circuit breaker. Something to check. Wish I could tell you more. I prefer the breakers that I have to re-set myself. mstewart Extreme Angler M Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 1,016 Plano,Tx, USA	Do you have a plug, that is connected to your battery, and you plug your trolling motor into the plug? I hope it is simple: Sometimes those plugs get corroded, or don't work very well. Sometimes it's the wiring, but I had a similar problem several times, and I found that the trolling motor wasn't getting enough "juice". The trolling motor was find, but it has to operate with a certain amount of AMPs, and if doesn't receive those AMPs it will cut in/out on you. If it's the plug, cut off the plug on the trolling motor and "Wire" directly to the battery. If it works, then you know you found the problem. You may have breakers or something to protect your trolling motor so you may not run it that way for prolonged periods of time. I also had the problem on an old trolling motor and took it to SouthWestern Parts and Service. They had to replace the spool, but those are no longer made, so I traded it in towards a new trolling motor (an Autopilot).
