Can anyone apply any merit to these types of charts? I know it is from the Texas State Aquarium people...but do they have any real time merit or just a person behind a desk merit?

This is the SOLUNAR calendar/table.
You should read up about how it came to be.

Technically, its still a "theory" and not full scientific fact.

But some anglers here swear by it. Even Hunters use it.

I, on the other hand, ignore it completely.

Some of the best days I had were when the Solunar calendar said it was going to be its worse feeding day/time, and vice-versa.

It honestly never worked out for me, and I kick myself for staying home on days the Solunar table said I should stay home.

When it comes to Saltwater fishing, the 2 things that really should be considered prior to going are the following:

- Tides
- Weather

I learned a long time ago...
Go early, stay late, fish hard all day.

That formula serves me way better than anything on a piece of paper.

Its a tool... I wouldn't totally ignore it.. but I would do all the things that ya'll have mentioned above... Tide and weather are certainly primary...

good luck,

Go early, stay late, fish hard all day." I agree with Pat Goff. I use/read most of the tables before I go for the day, but it has nothing to do with when I go or quit. For me it is basically to give me an idea when the water will in saltwater.

Good Luck and Tight Lines!
