Normally would have been Texas fishing 2 - 4 times by now this fall. Changed jobs and have no vacation. Lost 32 days from old job. Am thinking about leaving tomorrow afternoon and heading to Fork and others from there to Palestine. I've been reading that Fork has been really tough. Have fished most of the lakes between Fork and Palestine and was wondering if it would be worth the 6.5 hour drive. Any other lakes like Athens, Purtis, Hollbrook, Mill Creek, Quitman, etc. been worth a hoot? I want to go but not if it is going to be stupid tough. What say you?

Out deep with the crappie guys, spoons and tail spinners are cleaning up right now..You'll catch a huge mixed bag if you find the schools.

The ramps at Palestine are unusable unless someone has dug one out in the last couple of weeks.

Forked has really turned on for me opposed to the last month or so. The fall shallow bite is on.

Well, Big Leslie still owes me a Bic. The good thing is that I quit smoking Feb. 7. Can I get in Welch with a four wheel drive?

Well, I guess I decided. I woke up a while ago and I'm at LFM.
