Has anyone taking a deep sea fishing trip in Oahu, Hawaii? I am looking for a shared charter trip and there are so many to choose from!! Also, if you have any recommendations for a good shark fishing trip?
Thanks,
San smile

Yeah!Hawaii is the nice place for the fishing.the offshore fishing is the little difficult to catch the fish when compare to the on shore fishing. But when you are going for the off shore fishing, you may take the correct technique to catch the fish.Take all the instruments to catch all the fish and keep experienced fishing person along with you.

I've fished Hawaii about fifteen times. Of all the islands, Oahu is the last place I'd fish. You might get lucky and catch a couple of dolphins. I'd use my money for something else. Odds are you might get skunked in Oahu. I'm not cutting down Oahu, it's a beautiful place and you should have a great experience. Do the the Pearl Harbor tour instead of fishing. It's a very emotional tour that will make you proud of being an American.

Otherwise, you will enjoy yourself. Oahu is the most populated island. If you like big tall buildings, dinning and shopping, you are in the right place. It's the only island in Hawaii with an expressway. As with all the islands, the water is beautiful. It's just not my favorite fishing destination in Hawaii.

Oahu is like a big city. I have not fished out of Oahu but I went to the big island (Kona) this past august and went offshore fishing 1 day. I chartered Captain Marlin Parker and he was awesome. I hooked up with 1 marlin about 500 pounds for about 10 minutes before it pulled the hook. He said it was probably foul hooked and was nothing I did wrong. That was the only fish for the day. But the captain and crew were truely an awesome experience. His first words out of his mouth were to "do whatever you want because this is your boat today".

He loves talking to people (unlike some of the other captains I talked to on the phone) and having a good time. When I go back I will charter him again for more than 1 day next time.

Some Captains dont like you in their bridge and want you to stay below the whole tiome but Marlin likes for people to come up there and talk. Plus it gets really hot below. He also doesnt care if you want to climb into the tuna tower, which is really cool if you haven't ever done it.

I would highly suggest him

Love the music in your video. Looks like the family had a nice trip. I'll probably be heading down to Kona in the next month or so. There is something about the islands that keeps me going back.
