Is there anything that needs replacing or closer care within a 40hp Johnson motor especially with the VRO on a boat used in Saltwater more than freshwater?

I use my 1680 BayStealth in Saltwater (ofcourse) alot and I was wondering if any corosion would take place within the unit that would need closer attention than your standard maintenance, especially on the VRO pump. (hoses, clips, ect ?)

Thank you.

Nothing special, just flush your cooling system with fresh water. The VRO is mostly plastic with a cast chassis. Just regular salt water maint.

Also take the cover off your motor and wash inside, you would be suprised how much salt gets in there.

depending on the year of the motor, I would suggest unhooking the vro and going to a premix... they are notorius for going out without warning
