I usualy fish cats during spring and summer. I am wondering if they bite better in the evening through dawn as they do during the warmer months. any tips or info about bank fishing during the cooler months would be very helpfull.

I fish after dark a lot. They bite plenty good. If you're on the bank light a fire.

anyone notice a general depth the cats run in during colder temps
im mainly interested in the days/several days that do not dip into the frezzing temps. looking for a reasonable depth that can be reached from the bank.

i've been catching really well in about 13 to 18 foot lately. if you can reach that from the bank i'd fish there.

colder it gets they will go deeper, they sometimes come up into shallow water when the temp goes up, to get warm up I guess.(I dont know). Anyway you should be able to fish deeper waters from the bank, just look at a map to see where the waters the deepest closest to the bank. You dont have to be in the deepest part of the lake to catch fish.

Just keep the wind in your face and bait in the water and you should be able to have a good productive season, day or night!

Good luck! Of course luck is for those that are not perpared!

Dress warm, use feet warmers and keep your face and head covered.
